Chinese New Year fell on February 9th this year and ushered in the Year of the Golden Rooster. With a close connection to China, many Thais being of Chinese descent, this was a major festival in the whole country, not least here in Pattaya. There were several ceremonies and traditional events staged throughout the city during the day. We feature two, the afternoon traditional Lion and Dragon displays at Friendship supermarket in South Pattaya and the evening official city celebrations in Walking Street later the same evening.
