The normally tranquil seaside resort of Hua Hin on the Gulf of Thailand West Coast came alive at the beginning of June for it’s annual 3 day Heineken Jazz Festival.
The event this year was held on two stages, one directly on the beach in front of the beautiful grounds of the Sofitel Central Hotel, and the other in the more intimate setting of a small park near the town’s famous railway station.
The growing popularity of the festival meant that this year for the first time the usual star array of Thai performers was augmented by a number of International Jazz artists.
We made the four hour trip from Pattaya and staying in the Central Hotel’s beach bungalows fully enjoyed the entire three evenings of great music.
