Pattaya Events - 2

We continue our look at some of the events that happened in Pattaya during the past few months.

In this page we look at:-

The Pattaya Music Festival

Over the weekend of March 18th to 20th Pattaya held its annual Music Festival.

This year to emphasise the fact that International artists were taking part for the first time, the title was enhanced to ‘The Pattaya International Music Festival’.

Three stages were set up at various points throughout the city, one on the Beach Road featuring Thai musicians, another nearby featuring artists from other Asian countries and the third at the Bali High port in South Pattaya featuring performers from other parts of the world.

However these demarcations were not strictly adhered to and all stages in the end featured a mix of artists from all points of the globe.

The event was extensively covered on the local MTV channel and attracted an overall audience throughout its three days of close to one million.

As can be imagined this brought the usual chaos to Pattaya traffic but most felt that was a price worth paying for such a professionally produced event.

We took our cameras down to the Bali High stage on the last night (Sunday) to capture some of the flavour of the event. Our apologies if the pictures are not up to their usual quality, the huge crowd made it impossible to get really close up.

The Two Elvises

Pattaya used to have an excellent Elvis impersonator by the name of Ritchie Newton. Then a couple of years ago he left us to move to Phuket.

Since then we have been entertained by an equally impressive performer a Thai artist by the name of ‘Elvis Pallard’.

Ritchie recently came back for a short visit and during this the Jomtien Boathouse hotel and restaurant put on a show featuring both Elvises.

We went down there for an excellent evening’s entertainment accompanied by their always excellent good value food.

A Pig Roast

During the prize giving dinner at the PC Classic regatta, we were fortunate to win a raffle prize of a Pig Roast dinner for up to 10 persons courtesy of the Berliner Bistro in Soi Potisan, North Pattaya.

So a few weeks later, our table assembled there to claim our prize, and here are some pictures from the event.
